These terms cover your use of the MicroChilli website. They don't cover work we do for you as a client. That's governed by the engagement letter and proposal you sign, and if the two ever conflict, the engagement letter wins.
The free tools are estimates, not advice
The Freedom Calculator and any other tool on this site produce estimates based on figures you enter. They are general information only. They don't take account of your circumstances, they aren't tax advice, financial product advice or personal financial advice, and you shouldn't make a decision based on one without talking to someone who has looked at your actual numbers.
The tax rates and thresholds used in the calculators are our understanding at the time of writing and can change. We don't warrant they are current or correct for your situation.
Nothing here creates a client relationship
Reading this website, using a calculator, subscribing to The Brief or booking a call doesn't make you a client and doesn't create any professional obligation on our part. That begins when a proposal is accepted and an engagement letter is signed.
Prices
Prices shown are indicative starting points, described as "from", and exclude GST unless stated. Final fees depend on the complexity and condition of your records and are quoted before work begins. Prices may change, and the price that applies to you is the one in your proposal.
Using the site
You may read and share this website. You may not:
- copy or republish the content as your own;
- use it to build a competing service;
- scrape it at a rate that affects other people's use of it;
- attempt to interfere with the site or its security.
The content, wording, design and tools on this site belong to MicroChilli.
Other people's websites
We link to third party sites, including our booking system and quiz platform. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content or their handling of your information. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you're on them.
Accuracy
We try to keep this site accurate and current, but we don't guarantee it. Content may be out of date, and tax and regulatory information changes regularly. We may change or remove anything on the site without notice.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for any loss arising from your use of this website or reliance on anything in it, including the calculators.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability can be limited rather than excluded, it's limited to resupplying the relevant service or paying the cost of having it resupplied.

How we handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia, and you agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of that state.
Changes
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the current one, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
